Tommy V- This is How He Did it! from Robin Hamilton

Robin HamiltonHi, I’m Robin, and I am a journalist who tries to keep her ear to the ground.  One topic I’ve covered a lot is the job market.

We all know it’s bad...really bad. But that being said, I have had the fortune of meeting some people who had the wind knocked out of them - only to get back up. They got laid off, or left their jobs on their own will - and decided to turn their bad situation into good fortune.

For the next 10 weeks, you will hear from 10 people - in their own words, about how they were kicked down, and got back up. This is how they did it.

Tommy V

When Tommy lost his job as a graphic designer, he was angry, scared and depressed. With two kids to support and bills coming in, he had to find a source of income - quickly. He applied to a number of jobs, but was either overqualified, or told he lacked the right degree.

Fed up with having his 15 years of experience dismissed, Tommy tapped into his love of cooking. A big fan of salsa, he always dreamed of crafting flavors that were unique. He saved money on the marketing and design of his logo by using his own graphic design skills. He makes the salsa out of his kitchen, and travels to farmers markets to promote and sell his product. He says creativity, persistence and confidence allowed him to make it.

Tommy I am proud of you i just wish i could hurry up and recover from the drama my dysfunctional family and friends has put me in.  It is so much drama even the state house and city hall just think i need to vent.  Rep. Gloria Fox promise she would be like a sister or aunt to me since she was in foster care all her life she understand how i was feeling but when I called Rep Gloria Fox over and over again and she telling me now when I bumped into her at Brown's market she said i just want to vent like are you serious.  She said to me don't you think I don't know what is going on but what she wouldn't do is connect me to the right people before it was too late.  she claim she never got my email but i have the email confirmation right here.  She have completel ignored me.  Thanks for nothing Rep. Gloria Fox, Chuck Turner and of course Dianne Wilkerson but when they got jammed  they were begging for support i guess i was too when i went to them with multiple violations that we could have won but now the time limit has passed. its all good i think Boston talks about me.  I see butler and my ideals everywhere.  People in boston have grown a long way thanks to me and all my "venting"  Venting who have time to vent when they whole life fell apart in 2008.
