Well, it happened.
After steadfastly refusing to answer calls to step down from her Senate colleagues, the governor, several local newspapers and a host of other displeased onlookers, Dianne Wilkerson decided Wednesday to resign her office as the state senator from the Second Suffolk District, a seat she had held since 1992. A flood of reports, features, editorials, commentaries, blog posts, retrospectives, forward-looking statements, navel-gazing assessments and other types of analysis is sure to follow, with some of the water emanating from here at Banner HQ.
But for now, we want to hear what you think.
Hit the comments, fire off a letter to the editor or shoot us an e-mail to share your two cents on Dianne Wilkerson's departure. We'll be updating the comments page ad infinitum, so if you've got something more on your mind, go ahead and leave another message. We'd love to hear your take.
Thanks for reading,

While there is no glory in anyone's downfall, I truly believe that she stayed too long. For years she continued to abuse the people's trust; acting with arrogance and entitlement. How stupid does she think we are? |

About time. Lets turn the page already. Hope she gets her life in order - and while she's focussing on herself and her problems we can now focus on our community's issues. It was too much drama and distractions! |
