Hospital Boston was recently awarded Magnet status, an exclusive
designation developed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center to
recognize health care organizations that exemplify nursing excellence.
Only 5 percent of hospitals worldwide earn such recognition. Children’s
is now the first exclusively pediatric hospital in New England to
receive the distinction, and one of only five in Massachusetts. (Photo

Gomes, a senior administrative assistant at Citizens Bank, is on loan
for three months to YouthBuild Boston, a nonprofit organization that
improves opportunities for young people in the city by teaching them
the skills they need to support themselves and lead productive lives.
