YouthBuild programs in Massachusetts received $475,000 in grant funding from the Wal-Mart Foundation last Wednesday. Federated Dorchester Neighborhood Houses Inc. (FDNH) hosted 20 volunteers from Eduventures Inc. earlier this month as part of the Third Annual Jumpstart Read for the Record Program, the largest shared reading event in the country. Preschools, day care centers, and elementary schools partnered with volunteer readers in an effort to break the world record for the most number of children reading the same book on the same day.
