Jeanene, an affectionate 16-year-old with a great sense of humor, is one of many children whose portraits are on display at the Heart Gallery, a striking exhibit of pictures of children in the state foster care system in need of adoption. Organized by the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE), the traveling gallery’s goal is to raise awareness about adoption from foster care and to find adoptive homes for the more than 500 Massachusetts children who wait.
