Hurricane Irene struck the Boston area on Sunday and caused trees to be uprooted, like this one in a Dorchester neighborhood. Downed trees caused power outages and as of Tuesday afternoon 218,000 people in Massachusetts were still without power. Officials said it may take days before all customers have their power restored.
