Charity Runner is the American Cancer Society’s signature endurance event program that enables athletes of all levels to turn their passion for half-marathons, marathons, triathlons, or cycling races into a lifesaving effort to fight cancer. With the Charity Runner program, athletes are able to make their miles more meaningful by dedicating their efforts to the fight against cancer, and in honor or memory of a loved one. The Society is very excited to partner with the Urban Epic Boston Triathlon to become their official charity, which will enable many triathletes to participate in the event while raising valuable dollars for a wonderful cause. Charity Runner participants must commit to raising a minimum of $1,000. In return, they will receive many benefits, including: Personalized Web page to assist in fundraising efforts Free training program and access to coaches Exclusive American Cancer Society racing shirt Opportunity to dedicate your participation in memory or in honor of a loved one touched by cancer The American Cancer Society's mission as a nationwide community-based voluntary health organization is to eliminate cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy and service.
