Michael L. Woodson
Roxbury
native Michael L. Woodson has joined Huron Consulting Group as a
director. Prior to joining the financial and legal consulting firm,
Woodson spent time overseas, assigned to the Indonesian Police Cyber
Crime Unit through the U.S. Department of Justice.
Woodson has a background in network and information security, fraud
management, technical investigation, regulatory compliance and policy
development. He has 12 years of law enforcement experience obtained
from the Boston Police Department and more than 20 years of experience
in computer forensics and technology, which includes conducting
electronic evidence discovery investigations, and litigation support
for matters related to internal fraud, intellectual property theft,
embezzlement, Securities Exchange Commission issues and network
intrusions.
During his career, Woodson has served as a consultant for various U.S.
and international municipalities, corporations and financial
institutions, including the U.S. Departments of Justice and State, the
United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the
Indonesian National Police, the Australian Federal Police and Microsoft
Corporation. Woodson has also held positions with
PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte & Touche.
Woodson holds master’s degrees in criminal justice and economic crime
management from Boston University and Utica College, respectively, and
is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He has
served as an adjunct professor at Northeastern University, Curry
College, Cambridge College and as a visiting adjunct professor at
Stimik Perbanas in Jakarta, Indonesia.
