The continuing search for peace

As I read through a four-page supplement from the Mothers' Walk for Peace, I was struck by the irony of the words in Clementina Chery's commentary, entitled "Beloved Community: Why We Walk" - especially when she wrote, "Homicide and street violence are not sensational. They are not a phenomena of every so many years. They are woven into the fabric of our daily existence and yet for some reason we continue to tolerate it." More »

What do you think daily newspapers should do to increase readership?

For me, I'd like to see the newspapers write more about what's going on in the communities, [like] poverty, poor and working-poor people, the effects of CORI, etc. And write more about the positive things ... report on youth organizations, progress, jobs, etc. More »
