A group of 45 young people from the Shelburne Community Center set sail last month from the Bank of America Pavilion with Save the Harbor/Save the Bay to explore and enjoy the Boston Harbor Islands National Park. The four-hour trip was part of “All Access Boston Harbor,” a free summer program that offers nearly 5,000 Boston-area youth the opportunity to explore and learn about the local marine environment with the aim of inspiring youth to help restore and protect it. At a recent ceremony, Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) CEO and Executive Director Thomas J. Kinton Jr. presented six Boston high school graduates with diversity scholarships. The scholarships are open to all seniors graduating from city private or public high schools with an interest in pursuing a degree that could be used in a career in transportation industries.
