Eleven-year-old Linda Qin (left) from Jackson Mann Elementary School in Allston and 10-year-old Antonio Weathers from Lee Elementary School in Dorchester took the New York Stock Exchange stage on April 20 to participate in the National America SCORES Poetry Slam! along with youth from 12 other cities across the nation. America SCORES is an after-school soccer, literacy and service learning program that, each spring, chooses 24 students out of more than 6,000 to perform original poetry for an audience of hundreds at the New York Stock Exchange.
