Carole Copeland Thomas and Lakeville School Superintendent John McCarthy have a light moment during a break at a Unity Rally held earlier this month at the Assawompset Elementary School Gymnasium. The rally, organized by Thomas, a Lakeville resident who specializes in global diversity and multiculturalism, was called in response to the recent discovery of a swastika carved above the word “Obama” near the 18th hole of the Lakeville Country Club. Gary Mosca, owner of the Lakeville Country Club, immediately covered the swastika with a heart.  (Michelle Thomas photo).
