Saxophonists Myanna Pontoppidan (L) and Arni Cheatham (R) joined over two hundred area musicians and fans in a New Orleans-style jazz funeral to protest WGBH’s cutback to Erik Jackson and Steve Schwartz’s radio programs. The nearly two-hour protest and tribute was held in front of WBGH in Allston and concluded with a march past Jackson’s studio window to the music of “When the Saints Come Marching In.” Jackson waved to his supporters with a smile of appreciation.
