Melvin Tutiven recently joined Mt. Washington Bank as the assistant vice president and branch manager of the bank’s newest location, at 515 Centre Street in Jamaica Plain.
Tutiven joins Mt. Washington Bank with over six years experience as a banking branch manager at Citizens Bank.
“Melvin’s branch management experience and community involvement makes him a terrific leader for the Roxbury Highland Branch,” said Mt. Washington President and CEO Edward J. Merritt in a statement. “We believe our prospective and current customers will benefit from his professional experience and his focus on customer service.”
Tutiven, who gained customer service experience working with both the Sarni Corporation and Marriott, is fluent in Spanish and is active with the United Way, St. Mary’s Parish in Waltham and the New England Ecuadorian Foundation’s “Help for the Children.”
Tutiven “will build upon Mt. Washington Bank’s reputation for good corporate citizenship and exemplary customer service,” the bank said.
In his new role, Tutiven will focus on bringing Mt. Washington’s numerous business products to the local business community. With the addition of the Roxbury Highland branch, the 115-year-old bank now has six branches in South Boston, Dorchester and Jamaica Plain, with combined assets of over $550 million.
The Roxbury Highland Branch of Mt. Washington Bank — formerly the site of Roxbury Highland Bank, which merged with Mt. Washington earlier this year — will undergo renovations later this year with an estimated completion date of spring 2009. The branch will remain open during renovations.
