What role should churches play in reducing the high rates of incarceration in inner-city neighborhoods?

We need to come out of the church, go into the streets and connect directly with the offenders and at-risk youth, and provide direct support and intervention through the church, aligned with social agencies. We must remember that we are our brothers’ keepers.
