What are your thoughts on Jeremiah E. Burke High
School’s Classes of 1980-2000 Reunion Weekend?

It says a lot about the work teachers, administrators and others invested in the success of its students. For the students it’s proof that hard work pays off. The results being that hundreds of celebrants participated and I anticipate this event to grow even further!

When I look at the attendees and I think about the era in which they were struggling to find themselves throughout all the adversities, it brings joy to my heart to know that they have overcome and succeeded in life.

I left high school 24 years ago. It’s good to see the teachers who were a great influence on me. I remember Principal Albert Holland’s speech in which he said, “Pay now, play later.” I’m successful today because of those words.

Memories. It’s good to see old classmates. It’s good to see how everyone matured. The weekend has been exquisitely joyful.

Actually, I started this last year with a cookout. This year we doubled it and now the expectations are unbelievable. We [had] alumni from seven different states join us this weekend.

Not only do we get to see family, classmates, etc., but what really impacts me are the memories of love, respect, honesty and unity.
