Why do you think young people wear their pants below their waist?

At first I thought it was a trend or gansta fashion. But after research I found that this phenomenon started in prison by men to let other men know they’re available.

As I understood it, the general meaning is that for those incarcerated it meant one’s availability for sexual intercourse. But in the streets, it’s a different meaning. It’s about style that young teens portray to be cool.
