Do you think Barack Obama was wrong in distancing himself from Rev. Wright after his controversial statements at the National Press Club?
I agree with Obama. You know, there is a right and wrong time for everything. Obama and Wright already talked, but [Wright] continued to make blatant statements. There are historical things happening here. [Wright’s] an opportunist.

How can someone who represents the church and black liberation theology — which claims to elevate the black man, and in this case, the most powerful position in the world — reduce this event to playing the dozens and using “your mama” jokes? Barack Obama had no choice but to denounce Wright’s words and disassociate himself from the man. I think that it’s a tragedy that Wright, an African American himself, has jeopardized Obama’s candidacy to become the first African American president. Kathleen Woodford
