How should the United States help stabilize the government
of Somalia to prevent further acts of piracy?

We shouldn’t try to be the policemen of the world. There should be more cooperation among different nations. There should be a world council looking into this. Isn’t that the United Nations? We got it, we should implement it.

Currently Somalia has a weak government, so they need all the help they can get to better their government, to help economically, militarily and politically. This way, they can keep the coast safe of piracy.

I am in a position that I can make a difference. As a result, I am gathering signatures that I will submit to our U.S. senator’s office to support American efforts to help the people of Somalia.

I don’t think the U.S.’s role should be unilateral — it’s a world problem. We need to find an economic and political solution first, so we don’t have to find ourselves in this predicament.
