Do you agree with Gov. Patrick’s pick,

Though my choice would have been Professor Charles Ogletree, I believe the governor made a great choice. Paul Kirk is, in effect, Ted Kennedy’s formal power of attorney. Outside his immediate family, who else would know his wishes more? |

I agree with the governor. [Considering] a lot of the things [the late Sen. Edward M.] Kennedy’s done for this state and this community, I feel that’s one way of honoring him and his family’s wishes for the interim position only. |

I feel that [Kirk] knows what [Kennedy] wants. He was a dear friend of Ted Kennedy. I wasn’t disturbed by this choice because of the personal relationship. |

It seems to be a strong and reasonable pick. He’s got extensive legal experience, headed the DNC and is intimately familiar with Ted Kennedy’s passions. |

If [Patrick] feels that [Kirk] is going to do what Ted would do, then I’m down with it. |

Yes, because of the close ties that Kirk has with the Kennedys. |
