What does Thanksgiving mean to you?

This will be the first Thanksgiving without my mom. But we’re still getting together. It will be different.

To be with my family, to hang out and to give thanks to God.

Carolina Disla

At this age of my life, I just thank God for being here to celebrate with my family and friends.

It’s changed. For me, traditionally it’s been about family, getting together and giving thanks, but today it’s all about getting a day off. Peoples’ budgets are tight [and] can’t get all the trimmings like they used to.

Richard Matos-Haile
Human Services
Boston
To me it means giving thanks to God for what he has been to me. He’s been my light, my hope and peace in times of darkness.

Lawrence Dugan

I think of the indigenous people of this country and how they welcomed the first settlers teaching them how to plant, survive only to get slaughtered in return. But I also use this day to give thanks to God, Allah for my family.
