Given the recent findings that Boston police didn’t use excessive force in the arrest of a juvenile captured on videotape, do you believe there’s a need for a stronger civilian review board? |

Absolutely. I think the public should establish a civilian review board because they should be able to make and control what goes on in their community — and if the officials are not meeting protocol, I think the public should have a right to speak. |

I think that we need more than just a civilian review board. We need to engage in a comprehensive process to examine our so-called justice system at multiple levels involving police, community and local government. |

The Community Ombudsmen Oversight Panel (CO-OP) is needed and with subpoena powers. We also need a true civilian review board with same powers and we need a state commission on police misconduct. |

Yes. It is not just necessary, it is the right and ethical thing to do. This decision means that we cannot and should not completely place our trust in the police department. If we believe that we are not getting justice, we have to fight for it. We have to demand it. |

Yes I do. And I would love to be on it. |

We have a civilian review board. I don’t think it’s effective. It has no subpoena power, no real way to address incidents of police misconduct when they arrive at such findings when this video tape clearly showing a young man being subjected to an excessive use of force by police officers. |
