Charlotte Golar Richie

Charlotte Golar Richie, a former top Massachusetts state and Boston city official, has joined YouthBuild USA as its new senior vice president for public policy, advocacy and government relations.

Richie, a former state legislator, will oversee national and state advocacy for public funds, constituency development and government relations. She also will coordinate other advocacy issues impacting low-income youth and their communities, as well as manage advocacy-related communications and fundraising.

Richie has extensive experience in legislative and policy work related to economic development, education and civic engagement. For five years, she represented the 5th Suffolk District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, where she chaired the Joint Committee on Housing and Urban Development.

Most recently, Richie was executive director of the Deval Patrick Committee, where she led the team that helped set the stage for Gov. Patrick’s 2010 election campaign.

“I am so excited to have Charlotte Golar Richie join us to take our advocacy and policy work to a higher level,” said Dorothy Stoneman, president and founder of YouthBuild USA. “Charlotte has spent her professional life working to end the cycle of poverty for low-income young people and their families. She is the perfect person for this role.”
