The Codman Square Health Center recently appointed Rev. Garvin Warden to its board of directors during their annual meeting. Rev. Warden is the pastor of the Greenwood Memorial United Methodist Church in Dorchester.

Born in Barbados, West Indies, Warden spent much of his youth and young adult life there. He migrated to the United States in 1984 and became a citizen in 1995. He earned a master’s of divinity degree from The School of Theology at Boston University, and continued his schooling by participating in a post-master’s certificate program in Urban Ministry at the Urban Theology Institute in England.

He has served as pastor at several other churches before coming to Dorchester. He also serves on the board of directors of the Four Corners Action Coalition, United Methodist Federal Credit Union and the Greenwood Shalom Community Outreach.

“Reverend Warden is a welcome addition to our board of directors and we are looking forward to his involvement at the Codman Square Health Center,” said Bill Walczak, CEO of Codman Square Health Center. “Reverend Warden is an engaged community member and his commitment to Codman Square will be an asset to the Health Center, especially as we move forward with our plans for expansion.”
