What’s Hot in the City Sept. 16-23

The fall season is upon us and the city is abuzz with a host of live performances from art shows and plays to concerts and festivals. Here’s a look at what’s hot in Boston this week!

Thursday, Sept. 19, WGBH presents The Taste of WGBH Food and Wine Festival 2013 at its studios with 25 unique food stations showcasing the cuisine of local chefs paired perfectly with selected wines. For more information visit, please www.wgbh.org.

Saturday, Sept. 21, the Fifth Annual Boston Police Athletic League’s Grand Prix Carnival hits the Seaport District12-4 p.m. It’s a day filled with fun family activities, tasty bites and a wine and beer garden. Also on Sept. 21, the Boston Ballet presents Night of Stars on the Boston Common at 7 p.m. featuring the full company and live music from the Boston Ballet Orchestra. The first-time event is free and open to the public.

United South End Artists presents the South End Open Studios this Sept. 21 and 22 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. This free event showcases the works of more than 200 established and emerging artists creating art in a wide variety of media including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, glass and fiber.
