Community Servings, a nonprofit provider of medically tailored meals and nutrition services to individuals and families living with critical and chronic illnesses, announced the appointment of Arelis Sosa as director of human resources.

As Community Servings’ first full-time HR director, Sosa will oversee talent recruitment, employee engagement programs, training and development, and compliance with employment regulations and best practices.  Among other responsibilities, she will co-lead Community Servings’ safety and diversity, equity and inclusion teams.

“Arelis is a caring and passionate professional who brings tremendous human resources skills and years of experience to our organization,” said David B. Waters, CEO of Community Servings.  “As our first full-time HR director, she will be a tremendous asset as our workforce expands and our mission broadens.”

Sosa, who holds a bachelor’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University, has over a decade of human resources and workforce development experience.  Prior to joining Community Servings, she served as director of vocational services at the nonprofit human services agency TILL, Inc.  A first generation Dominican-American from Lawrence, she currently resides in Quincy.

Founded in 1990, Community Servings’ mission is to actively engage the community to provide medically tailored, nutritious, scratch-made meals to chronically and critically ill individuals and their families.  To help clients maintain their health and dignity, Community Servings provides culturally appropriate meals, nutrition education and counseling, and other community programs.  With support from thousands of volunteers, the kitchen team prepares over 800,000 medically tailored meals home-delivered to 3,200 clients annually.  For more information about programs and opportunities to volunteer or donate, please visit www.servings.org.
