Bethel Institute for Social Justice presents an Evening with Joy Ike: Bigger Than Your Box Album Release Concert

When: June 02, 7:00 AM - 9:30 AM
Where: 40 Walk Hill Street, Boston, MA
Ages allowed: All Ages
Cost: $25

As we are often currently reminded of how Black Lives Matter, and how we ought to stay woke during the seemingly endless stream of school shootings and political and ideological differences, Joy Ike reminds us of “The spiritual mystery of life and the ever-present Spirit of God that embraces us in our most helpless state.” Her intimate style and delivery invite us to enjoy experiences of beauty and peace – through uplifting sounds of soothing harmony. After listening to her, one feels transported beyond the current state of affairs, and left with the assurance that we are meant to transcend into bigger, better, more beautiful things.
Polished and precise, yet buoyed with an airy grace, Nigerian-American singer/songwriter, Joy Ike paints with a broad palette that defies easy categorization. Joined by upright bassist, Jason Rafalak, and percussionist, Ryan Socrates, Ike hits the road this Spring in support of her new album Bigger Than Your Box.
Join us for an intimate fundraising concert for the Bethel Institute for Social Justice featuring Joy Ike.
