On January 7th,several hundred women attended A Maven’s World Lifestyle Brand’s 5th Annual Women’s Conference and Brunch. The conference – themed “Year of the Ask” – was designed to empower and inspire women by providing a platform for networking, connecting, learning and growing. One of the conference highlights was the unveiling of the new brand declaration – A Maven’s World: Connecting People – Empowering Life! “At A Maven’s World, we are focused on fostering an environment that encourages, enables and facilities connections," said Anna Foster, Founder and CEO of A Maven’s World Lifestyle Brand. “When we form meaningful connections with each other, challenges can become opportunities – and by maximizing those opportunities can help empower each of us to build and live a life of our choosing. These messages are the inspiration behind the new brand declaration.” Recently retired Massachusetts State Representative Gloria L. Fox, who remained the only African American woman in the House of Representatives, was presented with the 2017 Maven Award for community activism and championing causes throughout her 30 plus year career. Fox’s former Chief of Staff Mary-dith Tuitt was presented with a certificate of appreciation the A Maven’s World Lifestyle Brand Award in honor of support of the Representative and the community throughout her tenure. The speakers, all of whom were presented with Citations from Fox, include: Gerri Mason Hall, Senior VP & Chief Human Resources Officer at Sodexo; Denise Kaigler, Founder & Principal of MDK Brand Management; Janelle Woods McNish, Mrs. Massachusetts 2013 and Mrs. Massachusetts USA Universal 2015; Shenia M. Dancy, Esq. Founder and CEO of the Law office of Shenia M. Dancy; Nancy Rousseau, Founder & President of Cultivate Womanhood, Inc. & Grants Manager of Year Up; Alicia Adamson, Founder, National Black Women’s Society, Author and Nonprofit Philanthropy Professional; Patricia Timmons, Founder & Executive Director of Boston M.O.V.E.S.; Joan Ramage, Corporate Sales Consultant of Lombardo’s; Greta A. Douglas, CPC, ELI-MPs Transformational Coach, Speaker and Trainer at Greta A. Douglas and Co.; Taisha Crayton, Principal, Chief Biz Builder & Deputy Director of Contractor Certification for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Katherine Galasso, Training and Communications Consultant at the Katherine Galasso Consulting firm. Anna Foster was also presented with a Citation for her outstanding work on behalf of women in business.
