Roving Camera 5-31-18: What do you think of the changes in Dudley Square?
I don’t think we have what we really need in the square. The stores sell junk. We need better clothing and shoe stores.
—Clarence Hogan, Retired Electrical Technician, Roxbury
I’ve been around here for a long time. When they built the Bolling Building, it was a place that brought a lot of people together. I like the changes, but it’s still not safe here. —Joana Depuis, Student, Roxbury
It’s good that it’s being spruced up but all the Caucasian people are going to come in and take over.—Joshua Nixon, Student, Dorchester
I think we’re in an upswing and it’s a good thing. However, the gentrification needs to be addressed. People are being pushed out. —Kenya Madry, Trucker, Roxbury
I love the changes, especially the new clothing store. Dudley Café is amazing, with music and poetry. It’s a happening place.
—Sonia Ruiz, Advocate, Grove Hall
The area needs new stores. A lot of the stores here are too old. The new restaurants are good. —Theodore Hopkins, Retired, Dorchester
