Youth Design Boston honored Founder of Boston Fashion Week Jay Calderin as "Mentor of the Year" at last night's 2nd annual CARNIVAL, the group's annual fundraising pep-rally that welcomes guests to an orange-decked midway right in the center of the W Hotel. Youth Design pairs professional design mentors with urban youth to educate, train and employ the next generation of Boston designers. Guests sipped cocktails and nibbled on carnival-themed foods from cotton candy to soft pretzels and tried their hand at carnival games where fabulous prizes ranged from Daniela Corte fashions to Bodega Reebok sneakers worn by basketball player John Wall. Attendees included Denise Korn, Youth Design Founder and Principal of Korn Design, Rahn Dorcey, Chief of Education for the City of Boston, State Representative, Byron Rushing, Robert Lewis Jr, President and Founder of The Base and The Boston Astros, South End residents Michael & Liana Krupp. Photos Courtesy of Elevin Studios/B.Lindsay Ahern
