ANDOVER PUBLIC SCHOOLS invites applications for the following positions:

Food Service Workers

Responsibilities:Prepares and assists in serving food to students according to standards related to sanitary conditions.
Qualifications:A knowledge of quantity cooking is desirable, as is a knowledge of how cafeteria records are kept for the kitchen on a day-to-day basis.

Substitute Teachers

Responsibilities:Responsible for instructing students and carrying out lesson plans provided by the teacher in order to ensure the continuity of instruction.
Qualifications:Minimum two years of college or equivalent experience working with children.Evidence of strong interpersonal skills.

Instructional Assistants

Responsibilities:Under the direct supervision of a teacher, supports instructional programming by helping students understand lessons being taught by the teacher.Assists teachers with various clerical tasks and supervises students during activities outside of the classroom.
Qualifications: Minimum two years of college or equivalent experience working with children. Ability to understand student curriculum and to implement multiple teacher directed activities.

Custodians

Responsibilities:Clean and maintain assigned schools, offices, cafeterias, and lavatories. Perform basic repair and maintenance functions, as well as shoveling snow.
Qualifications:Knowledge of materials, methods, and techniques of the trade. Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Building and Lunch Monitors

Responsibilities:Ensure the safety and well-being of the student population and assist the administration and faculty in maintaining a positive school environment.
Qualifications:Able to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently. An ability to work with and understand adolescents and to de-escalate potential confrontations.
