Human Resources Assistant
The Town of Easton is accepting applications for a qualified individual to fill the position of part-time Human Resources Assistant (21 hours per week). The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative and technical support to the Human Resources Coordinator and Town Administration related to all aspects of human resources and risk management including personnel administration, liability assessment and claims processing, personnel policies, employment procedures, record keeping and recruitment activities.
Duties include but are not limited to assisting with job solicitation, recruitment, and screening, including CORI/SORI processes; onboarding of new personnel, maintenance of various personnel records and databases; assisting with policy administration and training; supporting workers’ compensation and other insurance and liability related claims; supporting risk management and reduction training and process improvement across departments; and assisting Town Administration with special projects and assignments.
The ideal candidate works well independently, can multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. Candidate must possess excellent computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office products and have the ability to become a Notary Public.
Recommended Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree preferred; three to five years of human resources office experience; Certification as PHR or SHRM-CP beneficial; ability to attend training and pursue similar certifications upon hire desirable. Strong experience in customer service and/or office and business administration; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
This is a nonunion, non-exempt (hourly) position with excellent benefits including health insurance and a municipal pension system. The anticipated hiring range is $29.03 – $31.73 per hour DOQ. Reasonable schedule accommodations, within the required 21 weekly hours, may be negotiated with qualified candidates.
