Library Assistant I – Town of Stoughton
This is a fulltime benefited position requiring days, nights, and Saturdays.
Duties /Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to: This is a Front Line Customer Service position that includes Managing and staffing the Circulation Desk – checking in/out library materials, patron registration, distribution of library cards, assisting patrons with requests, using online catalog and other library equipment, answering queries and organizing materials. Assisting the public in person, by phone, email or text in order to provide all library services, and any related duties as directed by supervisor.
Qualifications: Associates degree plus a minimum of one year of customer service experience or clerical experience as a paraprofessional, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Familiarity with computer technology and social media required.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and previous library experience with some knowledge of library automation procedures. All applicants must be able to pass a criminal background or CORI check and a pre-employment physical, including drug testing.
Starting salary range: $19.68-$20.68/hr DOQ.
