Program Manager

Hawthorne Youth & Community Center

 HYCC Program Manager

 

Description

6-9 month Temporary position 

Part-time 30-35 hours/week 

Evenings and some weekends required

$21-23/hr 

     

The Program Manager manages all aspects of programming at HYCC and works directly with Youth employees and Volunteers.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high quality service to the community by overseeing and managing all HYCC programs
  • Plan, organize, implement, and operate playground programs, community garden activities, food delivery program, volunteer activities, and other programs
  • Recruit, hire, and on-board youth employees
  • Directly supervise and mentor 6 youth employees onsite, at Marcella playground, and at other off-site locations as needed
  • Plan and implement outreach and community events at least twice per month
  • Track and oversee client program data
  • Participate in community outreach and relationship building with residents
  • Work closely with HYCC Board Members and community agencies
  • Report to Personnel Committee member of the HYCC Board of Directors
  • Perform other tasks as needed

 

Qualifications 

  • Youth development experience in working with youth ages 6-18
  • Experience in managing employees and/or volunteers
  • Capacity to engage in critical thinking/analysis of programs and service delivery
  • Ability to adapt to the diverse needs of staff and population served
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Team player with superior interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • College degree preferred
  • CORI required
