Ware, Clarence Lawrence, 75 of Boston, MA, passed peacefully at the V.A. Hospital on West Roxbury, MA, December 14, 2022. Mr. Ware predeceased by his parents Fill Ware and Johnnie Mae Mitchel-Ware, and is survived by his son T Lawrence Ware; and, sisters Rose Powel and Mazarine Gardner. Clarence made local history by being part of the first 33 Negro Peace Officers hired by the M.D.C. (Metropolitan District Commission) Police Department.

Sweet Pea as he was known to some could always be seen “Down In The Hole” at the Franklin Park Golf Course and at the V.F.W. Post in Mattapan S.Q.  After retiring from the M.D.C., Mein Vater volunteered his time with The Resident Advisory Board (RAB) which addressed the issues of quality housing for seniors. Prior to the M.D.C. my Father served about a supply vessel called the U.S.S. Nantahala with distinction and courage.  Mein Vater, knew a lot of people high and low.  He was a social light and was always a welcome site in any social gathering, affair, or party.  Folks tell me, he will be missed; especially, his fiery spirit.
