GEORGETOWN TOWN HALL – WINDOW RESTORATION

The Board of Selectmen of the Town of Georgetown MA, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from General Contractors for the restoration of historic wood windows at their Town Hall, located at 1 Library Street, Georgetown, Massachusetts, which is listed in the State and National Registers of Historic Places. The project is being partially funded with a grant from the Massachusetts Preservation Projects Fund (MPPF) through the Massachusetts Historical Commission (MHC).

The scope of work includes repair and restoration to wood double-hung and fixed windows, abatement of asbestos window caulking, and replacement of all exterior operable storm windows. The work, including alternates, is estimated to cost $450,000.

General Bidders must be DCAMM certified in the category “Historic Building Restoration”. Filed Sub-Bidders must be DCAMM certified in their respective trades. All bids must include current DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility and a signed DCAMM Update Statement. General Bidders and Filed Sub-Bidders shall have completed similar work on at least 3 buildings listed in the State Register of Historic Places within the past 5 years.

No filed sub-bids are anticipated for this project.

All bids should be submitted electronically online at www.biddocsonline.com and received no later than the date and time specified below:

Bids due: Thursday, December 22, 2022 @ 5:00 PM

General bids and sub-bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five percent (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates) and made payable to the Town of Georgetown.

All work must be performed in accordance with the online documents prepared by the architect: Spencer Preservation Group, 41 Valley Road, Suite 211, Nahant, Massachusetts 01908 (617-227-2675) and meet the Secretary of the Interior’s “Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties”. State law prohibits discrimination. Awarding of this contract is subject to Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity guidelines.
