MASSACHUSETTS BAY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY SOLICITATION FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR THE RED BLUE CONNECTOR

REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS

MBTA CONTRACT NO. OCEPS10

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Office of the Chief Engineer is soliciting professional services for the Red Blue Connector. The scope of services includes providing preliminary engineering and environmental review services. Project tasks may include preliminary engineering, an alternatives analysis and environmental review, federal funding program review, and internal and external coordination. The selected consultant will exhibit a depth of experience and expertise in the design of tunnel, power, signals, track, structures, and transit facilities as well as resilient station design.

The conceptual level cost estimate for the proposed project is $850,000,000. The duration of this contract will be three (3) years with two (2) optional one (1) year extensions. This project is expected to utilize state funding. In addition, the Authority strongly encourages the use of Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises as prime consultants, sub-consultants and suppliers in all of its contracting opportunities.
