SOLICITATION FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR ORANGE LINE SOUTHWEST CORRIDOR MODERNIZATION

REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS

MBTA CONTRACT NO. T33PS01

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Office of the Chief Engineer is soliciting professional services for Orange Line Southwest Corridor Modernization.

The Scope of Services includes providing pre-design through preliminary engineering services for the modernization of the Orange Line Southwest Corridor to establish state of good repair, and reliability of the transit rail systems. The major design elements anticipated for this project will include but is not limited to track geometry, structural repair, fire-life-safety, system accessibility, extreme weather and climate change resiliency, drainage systems and stormwater management.

The selected Consultant will exhibit a depth of experience and expertise in the design and construction of power, signals, track, structures, and transit facilities.

The conceptual level construction cost estimate for the proposed improvements is $163,500,000.00. The scope of services will be authorized on a Task Basis at the discretion of the MBTA. The duration of this contract will be twelve (12) months with two (2) optional six (6) month extensions.

This project is expected to utilize state funding. In addition, the Authority strongly encourages the use of Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises as prime consultants, sub- consultants and suppliers in all of its contracting opportunities.
