SOLICITATION FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR CODMAN YARD EXPANSION AND IMPROVEMENTS
REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority is soliciting Professional Engineering Services for Codman Yard Expansion and Improvements. The project scope will include but is not limited to: expansion of Codman Yard by six (6) additional tracks and replacement in-kind for the Yard elements and the diamond crossover South of Ashmont Station. Codman Yard is an existing storage yard servicing the Red Line Fleet and is located in Dorchester, Massachusetts. The Scope of Service includes but is not limited to: Multi-Disciplined Engineering (i.e., Civil, Track, Structural, Traction Power, Signals, Communication, Electrical, and Environmental); Environmental Approvals and Permitting; Scheduling; Quality Control/Quality Assurance; Construction Phasing and Constructability; and Construction Cost Estimating. Design Phase (0%-100% and PSE), Bid Phase, and Construction Phase Services will be provided under this contract. The scope of services will be authorized on a task order basis by phase. The conceptual level construction cost estimate for the proposed improvements is $41,300,000. The duration of this contract will be four (4) years with one option period of one year.
This project will utilize State Funds. Although there is no DBE participation goal for this project, the Authority strongly encourages the use of Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises as prime consultants, sub-consultants and suppliers in all of its contracting opportunities.
