REPAIR TIMBER BRIDGES ON FRAMINGHAM & MIDDLEBORO RR LINES

Mass Coastal Railroad is accepting sealed bids for work on 5 timber bridges on the Framingham and Middleboro lines. The project is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, Rail and Transit Division (MassDOT).This Invitation for Bids is issued pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30, §39M.

THE PROJECT: On the Framingham Secondary, repair timber bridges at MP 0.53.2S, siding track over the Mumford River in Mansfield and at MP 4.33 over the Neponset River in Foxboro. On the Middleboro Subdivision, repair timber bridges at MP 0.60, mainline track over Forest Street in Attleboro; at MP 2.43 over Chartley Pond in Attleboro; at MP 14.42 over Cotley River/Dean Pond/Barstows Pond in Taunton. Contractor must show evidence of having worked on an active railroad and was able to complete the work with no or few shutdowns and no impacts to Operations. Construction cost estimate is $315,000.

Bidders must provide the following information to be considered qualified to perform the work: 1. List of equipment which will be used including hi-rail equipment; 2. Completed Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the Total Bid Price; 3. List of all work within the last three years of similar size and scope demonstrating Bidder’s experience and qualifications for this project as described above; 4. List of ongoing projects and three references from projects listed; and 5. Approved FRA drug and alcohol testing plan.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting and site tour will be held on Thurs., February 8, 2018, 10:30 a.m. All interested bidders shall meet inside the MBTA Attleboro commuter rail station, 75 So. Main St., Attleboro. Please RSVP to Rob Finley at rcfinley@verizon.net.

Bids will not be accepted from bidders who do not attend the pre-bid meeting. Sealed Bids must be delivered to Mass Coastal Railroad, 3065 Cranberry Highway, Ste. 5, East Wareham, MA 02538, by Thurs., February 22, 2018, 2:00 p.m. Bids will be publicly opened forthwith after the bid submission deadline at the Mass Coastal Railroad office, 3065 Cranberry Highway, Ste. 5, East Wareham, MA.
