Arnold Arboretum

On an overcast July morning, equipped with bug boxes and clippers, a group of about 15 middle school students gathered at the base of Hemlock Hill in Arnold Arboretum, ready to investigate the local ecosystem as part of a month of hands-on experience with science offered to Boston Public Schools students.

In an exciting collaboration of artistic forces, Castle of our Skins, The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University and visual artist Daniel Callahan of Create & Record are presenting the MassQ Ball 2022: Origin. This large-scale cultural event, taking place July 9, will celebrate the cross-cultural artistic expressions and roots of Boston’s communities of color.

On Saturday, Aug. 21, the Arnold Arboretum welcomed a new sound into its natural symphony — the sound of storytelling. “The Arboretum Experience,” created by American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University and the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, offers a series of audio plays, movement maps, meditations and live art experiences on the 265-acre property.
