This weekend, the streets of Dorchester will come alive with music during the first-ever Dorchester Porchfest, dubbed Dorchfest. More than 45 bands will perform on 25 porches and venues around the Ashmont-Adams neighborhood on Saturday, June 4 from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival is free and open to all.

In advance of the attention and scrutiny that come with hosting one of the sport’s four major championships, The Country Club rolled out a new internship program to introduce college students from underrepresented backgrounds to the cloistered business of golf: the Lee Elder Internship.

Harvard Art Museums launched the initial phase of their “ReFrame” project on Sept. 4. “ReFrame” aims to examine the purpose of a local and global art museum and how to use that platform to tell the most inclusive stories possible. With new acquisitions and a remix of the exhibition space, the museum will aim to showcase a more diverse group of artists.

United Housing Management, LLC (UHM), a property management company based in Dorchester, recently received a Small Business of the Year Award from the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. UHM accepted the Diversity Award as part of the Chamber’s 2018 Small Business Night.
