North Andover native and sound artist Jace Clayton returns to Boston for his show “Jace Clayton: They Are Part,” running at MassArt Art Museum (MAAM) Feb. 23–July 30. The highly participatory installation encourages viewers to experience sound in a new way.

A new mural graces the atrium of MassArt’s Design and Media Center on Huntington Avenue. “Intrepid” was created by the Boston-based GN Crew, Genaro “Go Five” Ortega (MassArt alum ‘09), Rob “Problak” Gibbs, Lee “SOEMS” Beard and Luis “Take 1” Taforo, in collaboration with MassArt students.

One of the most intimate experiences and relations in life, motherhood, is the focus of a new exhibition at the MassArt Art Museum (MAAM).

On Saturday, May 14, models strutted down the runway of the 2022 MassArt fashion show, displaying months of work by the graduating seniors of the fashion design program. Titled “404 Not Found” the show featured work by 21 students exploring themes such as race, gender, grief, the environment and inclusivity.

Boston-based artist and Massachusetts College of Art and Design administrator Cecilia (Ceci) Méndez-Ortiz has been selected as a Kennedy Center Next 50 awardee.

In early May, Massachusetts College of Art and Design opened a new physical gallery space at 460 Harrison Ave. in Boston’s South End. In its pilot year, the gallery will show thesis work of the school’s Master of Fine Arts students as well as work from the design program, curatorial projects, alumni exhibitions, student and faculty curated shows, and collaborative exhibitions with community partners.
