Project 2025 will create a dystopian country of haves and never-haves, leading to chaos that will enable those in power to steal and to create an authoritarian regime that may never yield to the power of the people. It must be stopped now.

During the recent debate between President Joe Biden and Donald Trump, CNN host Dana Bash asked Trump if he would accept the results of the 2024 presidential election. It’s a question frequently asked of Trump and Trump surrogates by hosts of network television news programs.

The lackadaisical efforts of Republicans to elect a speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives for three weeks would be funny if the chamber were not an integral part of Congress.

Much has been made in the news headlines of polls that purport to show Trump’s fading popularity. They give the impression that Trump is a dead letter politically among Republicans. The blunt reality is far different.

When ranked among 40 countries that spend funds on their children, the U.S. comes in 38th behind Finland, Germany, Denmark and France as well as Slovenia, Estonia, Russia and Mexico. Under such circumstances, how can sensitive Americans support the denial of women to determine for themselves whether or not they will have an abortion?

American democracy is in greater peril than at any time since the Civil War. The reason is that Donald Trump’s ego is unable to accept the reality of his loss in the 2020 presidential election.

Not one Republican in the House of Representatives voted to support passage of President Biden’s Build Back Better bill.

The great fear of the conservative attackers, though, is not that teaching about America’s past and present history of racial and social injustice will poison the minds of minority students, but that that it could seep into curriculums and presentations to influence a lot of white elementary and high schoolers.

It is insulting for Trump to suggest that Black voters fail to consider which candidates will provide the greatest advantage to Blacks and are therefore deserving of the Black vote. Such an assertion can be more reasonably directed to white working class voters who support Trump’s Republican Party.
