RCC has justly hired former Suffolk County District Attorney and U.S. Attorney Rachael Rollins to run its newly created Restorative Justice Project.

Roxbury Community College opened its doors in September 1973 after years of community activism, welcoming 400 students to a modest campus on Blue Hill Avenue.

The need for increased coordination and cooperation was central to the assessment of industry and education representatives gathered at Roxbury Community College to discuss how to help Boston residents of color better access jobs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics at the second annual Roxbury Worx conference.

When Earlene Avalón, a professor at Northeastern University, attended college as a first-generation student, she felt overwhelmed with the financial challenges of higher education, including affording textbooks and transportation.

Health care institutions have a collective responsibility to address disparities among vulnerable Black and brown people, but the institutions have been mired in a lack of cohesion and sustained progress and have made little dent in eradicating health care inequities.

A group of exceptional young men brought national recognition to a small college in Roxbury. All but two members of the 13-man squad of Roxbury Community College hailed from Roxbury or Dorchester.

At RCC, we take pride in offering our students some of the lowest tuition and fees in Massachusetts. Thanks to new state- and city-sponsored initiatives, private donors, and other funders, many RCC students will qualify for tuition-free enrollment as of Fall 2023.

Thirty Boston-area high school students had the chance to expand their knowledge in science, technology, engineering and math at a summer program run by Roxbury Community College and NuSq Life Science Training Center, an upcoming development based in Nubian Square.

A panel discussion with alumni, commencement exercises and a block party last week punctuated Roxbury Community College’s year-long celebration of its 50th anniversary. The college opened its doors to students in September 1973 in Grove Hall and had several homes before moving in 1988 to its current campus in Roxbury Crossing.

When a college reaches 50 years old it is customary the talk about it in glowing terms, using phrases like “beacon of education” and “cherished asset of the community.”

Boston hosted the world’s top track and field tour this week for New Balance’s Indoor Grand Prix. For its first 24 years, the elite pro event was held at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center (RLTAC) at Roxbury Community College. But that run is over, likely never to return to Roxbury.
