Local, state and federal officials gathered Monday at the Ausonia Apartments in the North End to celebrate the allocation of $1.75 million in federal funding to the apartments, a public housing complex for the elderly and people with disabilities.

For Democrats across the country, Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock’s victory in a runoff election versus Republican Herschel Walker represented a hard-fought victory for the party, one that helped secure a solid 51-vote majority in the Senate. For Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Warnock’s victory means she will continue to work with a key ally in the Senate.
